Mally's Education
1965. A foggy morning in a drowsy little beach town 40 miles south of LA. Fourteen-year-old Molly dutifully walks her bike across the street on the way to school. A naked pervert jumps out of the oleander bushes and asks if she’d like to touch his “friend.”
Molly’s single, working mom, Kelly, realizes she can no longer always protect her daughter so she arranges for Molly to attend a Catholic girl’s boarding school in Pasadena.
“Educating Mallie” is a coming-of-age story about both Molly and Kelly. Mother and daughter both face the challenges of Molly’s safety and sexual awakening. Along with this is the single mother’s realization that her child is becoming an adult and needs protection and guidance a mother may not always be able to provide.
